- Description:
- ● Threaded pipe unions are pipe connectors with female threads on both ends and with a tightening nut in the center.
- ● It is made up of three parts, two ends which are female threaded, and a central nut that joins them together.
- Used for:
- ● A pipe union, also called a union coupling, is used to connect two pipes, fittings or components together.
- ● Used to connect two pipes or male threaded fittings when those pipes or fittings cannot be turned or rotated during installation.
- Advantage:
- ● The advantage of a union over a threaded coupling is that enable pipes to be easily separated and reconnected.
- ● This means that a union coupling is better suited to situations where disconnection may be required for maintenance.
- ● It easily to install simply by threading the ends onto a pipe then tightening the central nut.
- To Install:
- ● Thread the ends of the union onto the male threads of the pipe or fittings you are going to connect, and tighten the nut in a clockwise direction until the pipe or fittings are securely connected.
- Sizing:
- ● A union fitting is sized according to the size of the male thread it will connect to.
- ● For Example: a 1/2" union will thread onto a 1/2" male pipe thread.
- Also Called:
- ● Threaded Union.
- ● Plumbing Union Fitting.
- More Options:
- ● Another option are Pipe Couplers which are also a threaded pipe connectors.
- ● Another option is a Bell Reducer Coupling which also joins pipes and fittings while reducing or increasing the thread size.

- Material of Construction:
- ● These threaded couplers are constructed out of Stainless Steel 304 & 316.
More Information:
A pipe union fitting is a pipe connector used in plumbing, fluid handling and industrial systems to connect two pipes or two male threaded components together. A union fitting consists of three components: two end pieces with female threaded and a central nut which when tightened joins these ends together. This feature of having a central tightening nut and two threaded ends makes it easy to connect and disconnect two pipes without any rotation or movement in the pipes. The tightening nut allows for a quick and easy assembly and disassembly process, which makes them ideal for situations that require frequent replacement of components for maintenance, or systems that will expand and require additions. They are also suitable for connecting threaded pipes in straight runs facilitating the extension of a pipeline. The internal threads of this stainless steel union coupler will thread onto male pipe threads of the same size. These NPT union fittings have tapered National Pipe Threads (NPT), which form a secure, leak-proof connection when correctly installed. This makes SS pipe union ideal for a wide range of industrial applications, HVAC and plumbing, wherever a threaded pipe run needs to be extended or where threaded components need to be removed or added without disturbing or moving the entire piping systems. These pipe unions are manufactured out of stainless steel 304 and 316, making them durable, rust and corrosion resistance.
