- Description:
- ● A 45 Degree Elbow is a 45 degree pipe fitting with female threads on both ends.
- ● Its a short piece of pipe with a 45 degree bend and has internal threads on either end.
- Used for:
- ● A 45 Degree Elbow, also called a Elbow 45, is used to add a 45 degree angle to a piping system.
- ● Used to connect two male threads at an angle.
- ● Most commonly used to connect two pipes at a 45 degree angle.
- Advantage:
- ● The advantage of a 45 elbow fitting when adding a bend to a piping system is that they make more of a gentle bend as opposed to a 90 degree elbow.
- ● This gentle bend reduces impact against the pipe wall.
- ● This results in more efficiency as less energy is needed to move the fluid through the pipe.
- To Install:
- ● Thread the female threads onto a male thread of the same size.
- Sizing:
- ● A 45 elbow fitting is sized according to the size of the thread it will connect to.
- ● For Example: a 1/2" 45 degree elbow will thread onto a 1/2" male thread.
- Also Called:.
- ● 45 Degree Fitting.
- ● Elbow 45.
- ● 45 Ell
- More Options:
- ● Another option is a 90° Elbow which is also a threaded elbow fittng but it has a 90 degree bend.
- ● Another option are Street Elbows which have a 90 degree angle between the threaded ends.

- Material of Construction:
- ● These threaded elbows are constructed out of Stainless Steel 304 & 316.
More Information:
A 45 Degree Elbow is a threaded pipe fitting used in plumbing and piping systems to connect male threaded pipes and fittings together at a 45 degree angle. A threaded 45° Elbow provides a smoother transition between the pipes they are connecting as compared to a 90 degree angle. This smoother "bend" leads to less impact on the pipe wall which results in a friction reduction and more efficincy, since less enery is needed to move the fluid through the pipe. It differs from a 90° elbow only in the degree of the angle. This feature of having a 45° bend makes them ideal to connect pipes together in such a way as to change the flow of the pipe direction by 45 degrees. Another benefit of having female threads is that they add a 45 degree bend to a pipe while changing the gender of the thread to female. For example putting an elbow on a regular male threaded pipe, puts a 45° bend at the end of that pipe while changing the thread to female. The internal female threads of this 45 elbow will thread onto male threads of the same size. These NPT elbows for plumbing have NPT threads (National Pipe Threads), which are tapered and form a secure and leak-proof connection when installed properly. This makes stainless steel 45 elbow fittings ideal for a wide range of industrial applications including in plumbing, HVAC and manufacture, wherever a male threaded parts need to be connected at 45 degree right angles. These elbow connectors are manufactured out of stainless steel 304 and 316, which makes them durable, rust and corrosion resistant.
